.32 Winchester Special

Nice calibre, interestingly, it was designed by Winny because many folks did not like the smokeless powder 30-30. All winny 94s with sold with a hand loader and Smokeless powder was hard to come by so winny slowed the barrel twist and increased the bullet size on the 30-30 to 32 designing a bullet that can be hand loaded in either smokeless or black powder with the same ballistics.

and

.32 Special was a pretty interesting cartridge, smokeless designed to be reloaded in black powder if needed.

Did not know that...

My grandfather back in NB had a Winchester 94 in .32 WS ... took MANY deer & moose with that gun..

A nice old 94 in .32 has been my deer rifle for the past few years. All original 1953, I think it is. Well worn bluing, just right.

I have a Winchester 1894 in .32 Special. This Rifle is also a take-down.
It takes down just like the new Ruger 10-22 Take-down.
I originally bought this take-down because it easily fit into my back pack with no one the wiser that I had a 30-30 sized rifle with me.

I picked up a Marlin 336 in .32 Special from a friend (I think I stole it from him) a few years ago.
Rifle was made in 1952, had a Williams receiver sight installed already. It came with 140 rds of ammo and a decent sling.
The sling is gone now. The rifle looked not quite right with a sling.
I have put 20 rounds through the rifle and it shoots like a dream with Federal factory ammo. I had to put a taller front sight on it to get the bullet impact down to where it wasn't 12" high at 100 yds. That's the only change I've made.
People want to buy it from me, but it's not going anywhere unless I'm really desperate for cash.

I'm going to have to take it hunting one of these days........................maybe for spring black bear?
