Does anyone have any ammo for a .33 Modle 1886?? Do you know where I may find some? I got my grandfathers gun and only have a few shells left and would like to get some more. The gun is 107 years old and in great shape! Thanks for any help!!!!!

I don't think anyone is making, or at least keeping in stock, new made 33 Win? You'll most likely need to reload this caliber. Do a Google search for Bullseye Reloading in Alberta, and give them a call. They might have the loading dies and brass.

Very easy to make your own brass, simply take .45/70 cases and run them through the full length .33 Win die.

Do you reload? I load for my 2-33 Wins in 86s. They use 338 bullets and reworked 45-70 brass. Dies are available from Huntington in California.
If you do not reload I'm afraid you are pretty much SOL unless you can find a buddy in your area or as suggested a commercial loading outfit.

Thanks for the helpful replys. Wife's boss reloads and he can help! I also found a full box in my Grandmothers attic that dad thought was there. Wife's boss said buy the die and we can do it together. Again thanks and what a great forum!!!!!!

Lee makes a set of dies for 33win. Little bit less expensive than other brands. Like others have said, 45-70 brass can be reformed in the 33win dies. Hornady used to make a 200 gr flatnose for the 33 (product no. 3315) but no longer produce them. You might luck out and find a box somewhere, though. Cast bullets are always an option.

I imagine they would be hard to find but at one time Hornady made a 200 gr. Flat Point bullet in .338 diameter expressly for 1886 Winchester rifles.Might be a box or two kicking around somewhere.
