About 10 years ago I built a 338-06 on a small ring erfurt mauser action. It had a blued stainless octagonal barrel
and a 2 position M 70 type safety. It was stocked with a fairly nice piece of walnut with no checkering. After shooting it to break it in I sold it because I'm a left handed shooter and just built it because I wanted a project. It shot very well I might add. It went to a home in the Yukon, Whitehorse I believe. I've often wondered if the new owner was happy with it. Because it is a fairly distinctive rifle I thought maybe some of you members in the Yukon would be aware of it.
does anyone know anything about it?

Neilm,

I have not personally seen the rifle up here, but it certainly sounds distinctive enough to be noticed. Small ring Erfurt with an octagonal would be pretty distinctive. Would like to see it.

Will check with a few guys at the club.
