The bolt is on the wrong side...nice rifle otherwise

The bolt is on the right side for me....
The only thing that I would change is the 1-10" rifling twist.
Unless the 300gr bullets are going to be used the 1-12" twist would be plenty fast,
in this case 2500fps with 250gr bullets might be not attainable b/c early pressure spike.
Smith gain twist barrel would be preferable IMHO.

1:12 would of been sufficient, but I wanted to use a Benchmark and 1:10 is the slowest they offer. I was pushing 250gr Hornady's to 2462 fps the other day with CFE223, zero pressure signs so I think another 50-75 fps is attainable, especially with Win760 or RL17. Will find out soon enough and will post my results. :)

Nice build. I like that paint job. Good cartridge to. Defiance actions are really good. My Defiance action in 300 WM build has been trouble free. Enjoy the new rig.

Congratulations on a very nice build. Will be interested in what you think of it after using it a bit.

I built a similar weight, 24 inch barreled, 338-06 rifle about 20 years ago, and was very disappointed in it. The velocities were just not there. Rechambered it to 338 Win Magnum, and it promptly delivered 250 Partitions at 2800 fps, quite a bit above average velocity.

Gave it to a friend for an anniversary gift. He promptly went out and whacked a big grizzly with it.

I built one last year off a Sako AV action,Mcmillan stock and a 1-10 RKS twist barrel . 2670fps and super accurate with the 225gr Nosler accubonds. Its a joy to shoot.

Congrats on the nice gun

I have been using that caliber for 15 years, built by Guntech. Funny my bolt is also on the wrong side. Moose hate the caliber, i love the caliber. It is a joy to shot and very accurate.
