Is anyone necking the .375 Ruger down to .338 yet? I think my Ruger M77 338win will be due for a new barrel next year and this seems like it would be a great wildcat to play with if someone invents it for me ;)

have seen a few threads on some other sites that are talking about it.
pm and I'll pass on their names.....also scuttlebutt about Ruger bringing out a 416 on the 375 case.

Yes, they now have FACTORY bullet in .338 AND .300, the name is 338 RCM and .300 RCM for RUGER COMPACT MAGNUM. VERY VERY good repoort, specially with the .338 RCM, will produce their MAXIMUM velicity from a barrel as short as 20 inches... It's based on a shortened .375 case.

Look in the GUNS & AMMO december 2007 about it...

Looks like guy is already hunting with it. :)

I've run this cartridge in Quckload and it gives me EXACTLY same pressure curve and ballistic as .338LM
It will be kinda interesting to put one together (based on Rem700 action) and see if accuracy going to be comparable too.

He wants to know about a LONG ACTION .338 Ruger, not the RCM, its built on a short action.
