I'm thinking of purchasing a 300/338RUM (338 Edge) for my Savage 112 (300WM) which has been converted to single shot. My question is does the regular shank offer sufficient safety margin for the 300RUM case or is it preferable to start with an action that accepts the larger shank.
Also, from an ejection point of view, are there likely to be problems with the 300RUM case. I understand I can get a smaller baffle specially for the 300RUM from Sharp Shooter Supply.
Finally, who makes a prefit 300/338RUM barrel in 28" for the Savage action: Shilen, Pac-Nor, Lothar Walter?? Jerry, please can chime in.
