338 fed game performance?

you probably won't get alot of feedback from guys with actual field experience with the 338F. For one thing, it's pretty new, and also it's too slow to catch the eye of the average gun buyer. :) bullets bounce off game at under 3000 fps!

Haha. Thanks guys. I'm well aware of the energy and velocity potential.... just wondering if joe public owns one? I guess not. Todd, saw a pic of yours on huntningbc...very nice! You customs look nice too. I know the fed. can't kill anything but if I could just get those 160's over 3000 I will atleast have one load that I can use on ground squirrels. It was about the time the ultramag was introduced that the molecular composition of moose, elk, and deer hide/hair morphed into the same kevlar weave compound used in bomb squad iniforms. Very unfortunate. Bullets under 3000fps actually just steer of course for a clean miss if they see they're headed for a bullet proof animal. Please don't let it get out, but I still have a 308 that hasn't been told of the changes.

I have T3 tikka in 338fed for sale I did have the pleasure of shooting it all season and was very impressed. I shot a bull moose as well as Mulie Buck and a doe and two whitetail doe. The Bull moose was at 50yrds and the longest was at 260yrd on a whitetail doe. I owned a 300wm t3 last year annd the recoil was punnishing the 338fed's recoil wasnt bad. All of my kills were one shot skills with less meat damage than I was use to last year with the 300wm. I was using factory 185gr barnes-x ammo. I really enjoyed the rilfe and caliber low recoil as well has good hitting power and not bad for meat damage. Only reason selling is as the rest i'm a gunnut and want to play with something new.

If having any questions let me know.
