338 Lapua AI 300gr Scenar starting load

Just wondering if anyone has a starting point for me with 300gr scenars and US 869.

I would talk to Rick at Alberta Tactical Rifle. He has built several rifles in this caliber and uses the same components (or 300gr sierras).

Just start with regular 338 Lapua data and work up. Mathematically, if you figure out the difference in case capacities, you can also figure out load differential and theoretical velocities as well. Isn't math fun? - dan

My load for 300gr smks

and us 869 is 110.5gr.

I think rick has been upwards of 114gr. But from what i remember most people are in the 110-112 gr range.

Start lower and work up....

I'm also at 110.5 with SMKs. but like Brad sez seriously....start lower !
