338 Lapua in a Savage Action?

Jerry.
Mick is tooled up only for .30 cal barrels, but he may have a 338 Reamer.
Ron Smith can do 338 barrels however.

Another possibility is Keith Cunninghamat Milcun.

Problem with the RUM is brass quality! I brought in a pile of match grade RUM brass in Federal on special order from a special run. Still waiting to here what the qaulity is like.......338 Lapua - excellent brass! $250 / hundred and readily available! Along with their bullets.

I just bought a 338 lapua AI reamer and rick at atr is building it at this very moment and it is going to kick the SH!T out of every thing it hits

If recent experience is any indicator, US commercial brass is greatly improving in quality. Been using Win, Rem and Fed with excellent results.

Many top level US shooters are also finding this and using prepped brass to do very well. No shortage of info on www.6mmbr.com.

Been using Rem RUM brass once fired so coming from varying lots. Still, the quality is quite consistent and a bit of sorting and working just fine.

My rifle is a 1/2MOA shooter and the brass shoots to this level. If planning a BR heavy rifle, the Fed brass may be the way to go.

You buy the reamer and he builds it for you? Make him buy the reamer! and the headspace gages, he's the gunsmith!

I buy ALL my reamers and gauges.
That way, I own the reamer and can use it as I see fit, loan it, rent it , or keep it for another rifle or rechamber job.
Many shooters prefer this way to having the gunsmith supply the reamer t additional cost.

I think it will be hard to make anyone do anything. Pending cartridge, business and work load, most smiths will not buy special order reamers for a one shot deal. Dave your idea is an excellent one.

Loaning out reamers for free isn't very common especially if you have to ship it......however if there is a relationship between the two individuals that often helps.....
