Going to start loading for .338 LM.

What results are the loaders getting with their hand loads for accuracy and how are they doing down range staying supersonic.

I have a preference for SMK's, never had as good of luck with Berger or Hornady in other calibers.

My Rem 700P liked 300SMK's and RL-22.
I have a new rifle now and just built a batch with 300 Berger Hybrid and US-869 to test. Next batch will prob go back to try RL-22 if these don't work out well.

For my 338 AI. With 300 gr Berger hybrid I am using US 869 at 111 gr and it still has lots of punch at one mile . Regular 338 would make a little dent and wash paint But mine were trying to punch through

I currently use US869 under berger VLD's but I think I will be moving on to Retumbo once my US869 stash is dried up. I find the US869 leaves a bit more carbon fouling and I understand it is more temp sensitive. Both work VERY well in my PGW T-wolf.

Ok, got my Bergers here and checked some lengths.

3.821" just kissed the lands, it rubbed the magic marker but didn't rub through to the copper, nice even rub from each land.

3.755" was the length to fit my magazine.

So, I dunno if a .065 jump is going to work but I guess I can try some test loads with that length , or it's going to be single feed only.

Has anyone heard or tried and have results with RL 33????
