Hi,
I have just started reloading for 338 lapua magnum. Lapua cases. I have both Retumber and H1000 and 250 gr Sierra Gamekings. My question is every recipe I have calls for a Fed 215m primer. I only have CCI 250's. Every store in the Lower Mainland is sold out of Fed primers. Is it safe to interchange the recipe with a CCI 250 primer. I do plan on working my load up. I understand the CCI's are a bit hotter. I have been reloading for 2 years and still would consider myself a novice reloader. Sorry if this has been asked before but I've been searching and can't find an answer. Thanks in advance.
Mike

You can safely interchange the Fed 215Ms with CCI 250s.
215Ms are real hard comeby these days.
Personally i have not had the best of results with retumbo, but H1000 works well as does US869

If you start at the suggested -safe- starting load than you'll be fine with any primer. As always, work up each load from that point and watch for signs of pressure as you go.

I'm using CCI 250's and H1000 for 338 Lapua.......seems to work well for me. I'm getting the velocity I want and the accuracy is good.
