Anyone know where I can find such a beast? I need one for my 338 edge

It cannot be a small base FL die because my edge case is longer it has to be in the form of a body die only

Thanks for the help

A body die will be too short as well; being as they are just a FL die with no neck. cutting it in half would let you massage the base without pushing the shoulder back. A punched out .300 RUM FL bushing die would make a Edge body die if you left the bushing out and is a FL die for both calibers when the appropriate bushing is used. A FL .375 RUM die with the guts pulled out will make a .338 Edge body die, but I doubt if you can get one in SB.

Why not just order a 338 Edge small base die?
From your description it sounds like you are using range brass, if this is
the case try new unfired cases. If then your problem persists then there
is a problem with your die or chamber dimensions.

I have actual edge dies....the brass is once fired from my other edge from before....there is no edge small base die I found out....gonna try new brass but even the fired stuff is under
specs so not sure whats going on???

I doubt that you need a small base die, even if your rifle has minimum chamber dimensions. Once you fire the brass in your new chamber, it will reflect the dimensions of the new chamber and shouldn't require much more than slightly bumping back the shoulder when you resize it; essentially you're fire forming the brass to your chamber. If you have a match chamber, you might have to turn your necks in order to chamber the loaded round. Use a permanent marker to color the neck and shoulder of the case to see where the case sticks in your chamber. If the neck is what causes the difficult chambering, you have your answer.

Anyone ever have an issue with a chamber that is too polished? I had never heard of this but it can cause cases to stick...new to me

I`m not sure where you got the polished chamber idea, but if you specified a match chamber, chances are it has a tight neck. If a full length resized case with no bullet is difficult to chamber, it can be the result of one of two things; either the shoulder isn't bumped back enough, or the neck needs to be turned. The first step here is to ensure that the full length sizing die is correctly adjusted. If its correctly adjusted, and the shoulder still needs to be bumped, ensure you have the correct shell holder, and that its within spec. In rare circumstances it can be necessary to reduce the height of the shell holder. If the case that's run through the full length sizing die with no bullet seated chambers easily, but doesn't chamber easily with the bullet seated, the neck will have to be turned. The neck is the only case dimension that changes by seating the bullet.
