Around a year ago, or a bit more, I sent a 700 CDL and a barrel to Julien at Downrange Precision, and had him put a 338 Winchester together.
After I got it back, I played a bit, but had a lot of irons in the fire, so it sort of got neglected for a while.
This spring, with a bit more time available, I started to get serious about building a load or two with it. The results have been gratifying.
The barrel is a Shilen, 1-10" twist, 26" medium sporter. With the 210 Partition, using 7x.x grains of Hodgdon 100V, 3029 average and the
3-shot groups are well under MOA right out to 400.
The 225 Accubond shoots similar groups, but I am using 7x.x grains of Norma MRP for 2937 avg.
I am still going to play with the 210 TTSX, and the 210 Scirocco II. If it holds true, I may have a real gem here.
Regards, Dave.
