So I recently built a 358 Norma off a Savage action, Stainless Shilen heavy sporter 24 inch barrel and boyds laminate stock. Haven't picked it up from the smith yet who is bedding it. What I am wondering about is forming 358 Norma Brass from 338 Win mag brass. So my question is do I have to fire-form the 338 brass after I have ran it through my 358 Norma die before I fire full loads or can I just load and go as many online would suggest. I have loaded full loads with 30-06 brass upsized to 35 Whelen without fireforming and have had good success. The Nosler website recommends loading 2 grains of 4350 under minimum loaded out to the lands when referring to the 358 STA but don't suggest a similar approach with the 358 Norma Mag.... I would like the opinion of the wise reloaders on this sight before I complete my first handloads for my new rifle
Thanks ahead of time.
