338 win to 340 wby

Do you guys think I can just use a t- handle snd finnishing resmer. To go from 338 win to 340 wby. I did this on a 222 to 223 and had no issues. Just checking though.

Not increasing the headspace can be tricky... or if it has headspace now it may end up with even more.

I have done this quite a few times, I hate 338s and love my 340 Wbys.......for me this would be too much material to take out by hand, about 10X the change from 222 to 223.

I will take quite a bit of time, for sure, but can be done. I once took a .30-06 out to .300 H&H this way, and it took forever! Guntech is right about the headspace, due to both rounds headspacing on the belt, which is already cut. If it were me, I would cut most of the chamber, then when you are getting close, you could start putting Prussian blue on the cutting face of the belt area on the reamer, and constantly check the reamer. When it shows ANY sign of being touched, you are done. I always wanted to do this conversion myself, to a Weatherby Vanguard, but the 24" barrel always stopped me.
