.338LM barrel life

Ofcourse it will vary from barrel to barrel and as you noted how hot the barrel is allowed to get, but I have rebarrelled my own 338 Lapua Improved 3 times now and normally see around 1500 rounds of very good accuracy then it starts to decline, the group size opens up and at about 2500 rounds feel I am just wasting components so time to rebarrel.
