I used this bullet on moose in a 270win. It worked well. But I missed bones....but it passed through moose made it 50yards on a lung shot.. it stopped and I made heart shot. But he still made it about another 70 yards but into the black timber lol . Range on both shots was about 220yards

Wonder if anyone has experience with the bigger .338 GMX rounds. Moose shots would most likely be 150 yards and under.. some instances 40 yards or less. Elk would be 100 to 400 yards.

I was once told when using Monolithics to go a size or two smaller than what u would use leaded.

Also told the Barnes ttsx are softer than the GMX.. and should give greater expansion at longer ranges and lower velocities.

Can anyone give me some a good read on the ttsx and gmx? Even a link to some good reading.
I bought my 338 win mag with the intentions of using big 250 grain leaded bullets like partitions and AB.... but now not so sure

I have used the 185 ttsx on 2 elk 1 moose and 3 deer out of a 338-06 pushed hard at over 3k it was a safe load in my rifle with a 26 inch barrel very effective and accurate velocity would be close to the win mag farthest shot was 330 on an elk excellent bullet I never got around to trying the gmx but have no reason to think performance wouldn't be equal to the Barnes
Cheers

I know I'm not in the .338 category but I'm using the barns tsx and the ttsx in my bar 25-06 with unbelievable results...(I scratch my head every time I use it and girlfriend too)... and .300 wby mag 180 tsx and ttsx ..... accuracy is like a lazer and bullets mushroom like they say they do in the books.... I kept a couple ..... the velocity isn't super fast but the animals drop dead right there or like they been hit with lightning!!!!! Back legs kick up to sky .... a jump about 5 feet straight up and run maybe !!!! Maybe the most 100 feet
...lol I think we would do the same ..lmao!!!
I reload mine
