348 Win loads with Swift 200 gr A-Frames

All hail the Winchester Model 71!

I have a stash of the discontinued BarnesX bullets (200 and 220gr) bullets I acquired years ago( Bought every box I could find along with all the 348Win brass I could find and afford, when I got the Winchester 71 sickness real bad. They both work really well on our big Vancouver Island bears. Saw the Swift Bullets in 348 but couldn't come up with an excuse to buy them given their cost. I will be interested in your findings. Winchester 71/348 winchester, the stuff of dark woods rambling' dreams.

What was your load with the 220 gr X bullet?
Would love to try the 348 on those Island bears! My wife would also like to hunt them. Our bears can get big, but don't know that they get as big as yours, unless living in some farmer's oat fields every fall.
Only a short 17 hour drive and ferrry ride to reach Nanaimo from here!
Will provide results once I receive anddevelop a load with the A-Frames. Should be here any day now.

Barnes X bullet, 220gr, 63gr RE19, 2350fps. Used only on bears, all were dead right there, right now , with front shoulder shots.

Hornady 200gr sp, 66gr H4831sc, good in every 71 I've had.

Use loads at your own risk, consult manuals, start at least 10% lower, okedokey?

I've got my Swift book out.
