Hi there I have a 1918 Remington model 14 I have brass and Hornady roundnose 200gr bullets but what is the ideal powder to use and how much for this caliber

I've always had good luck with H4895 powder with the 200 grain bullets, have yet to need a follow up shot. Lots of data on Hogdgon's website

Yes but the gun I have was my great uncles and It is 102yrs old. I had a box of 150gr bullets that I shot with it and really don’t want to reck it and was wondering if anyone has a similar rifle and want to know what powder and grain amour they use

Cuz I have found a lot of load data but some show the min load for others it is almost the max so just trying to double check everything before sending one down the pipe

35 rem is a pretty low pressure round, anything you put down it is going to be safe, if you just want to plink with it then pick any starting load, or use 60% of the max load listed for H4895

I load for two 35 Rem. rifles, a Marlin 336 lever action and the follow on version of your rifle a Rem. Model 141. I have used starting loads for both rifles from several different loading manuals and have had zero issues with any of them causing undue high pressure so you should be ok with them to start with.
As suggested above the 60% load of H4895 will provide a nice mild load for casual shooting as well.

Up to the shoulder with trail boss behind 158gr swc makes a nice safe plinking load, I have the grains wrote down in my gun room but if you follow the trail boss instructions you are safe!

Forgot to mention in my earlier post but the 35 Rem. really likes cast lead bullets, at least in my experience anyway. I have had very good luck with bullets in the 200 gr range as far as accuracy goes with several different powders, it really is a shooter/reloader friendly cartridge. There is gobs of loading data out there for cast lead bullet handloads. The Lyman Cast Bullet manual being one of my favourites.

Awesome good to know that’s for the help

I load for a Marlin 336C... For year the hunting load my brother used and still does…

38 gr of Varget, 200 gr RN, Rem primer.
Many WT have fallen to my load.
