I just received my 200 gr TTSX in .358 from Omineca. I loaded a bunch up for my 35 Whelen AI with RL15 and Lapua fireformed 30-06 brass. I think they will inflict some serious damage!!
One thing I should mention to anyone thinking of using these. These are loaded in a custom rifle with a shorter throat. If you load these in a longer throated factory rifle you will not be able to seat to mag length and be anywhere near the lands.

That's a very light bullet for a 35 Whelen - you'd be much better served IMO with a 250 gr or at least a 225 gr. I can seat the 250gr Hornady to 3.520" in my custom Mauser, and stuff 66.0 grs of RL-17 into it for 2600 fps or 60.0 grs of RL-15 for 2550 fps. You'd get perhaps another 50 fps wth the AI, but much less if it's short throated.

The problem with the heavier bullets is they are not moving fast enough in a Whelen for the TSX design . I have used the TSX extensively in different calibers and the faster they are moving the better they open up. Conventional bullets are just not a good comparison with TTSX and TSX bullets. This bullet fired from a Whelen still has 1500 ft/lb at 500 yards!!! The 200 TTSX makes the Whelen a legitimate 400 yard elk, moose or black bear cartridge(1900 ft/lb at 400).Sighted in 2.7" high at 100 it is dead on at 250 and only 16.5" low at 400. There are no 250 gr bullets that can claim that. If I was to use a real heavy bullet in this thing it would probably be a 310gr Woodleigh.:D

I just got back from the range. The smallest group was 1/2", largest was 1 1/4". The bottom charge went 2720 average and the 62 gr charge went 2906 average for three shots. I saw absolutely no pressure signs in any of the loads. I think I could go another grain or two, but would getting into compressed load territory. With the 62 gr load I am just starting to squish the powder, but no crunching yet.I think this load is perfect at 2906, and won't have any worry of pressure problems in hotter weather. I was very pleased with the accuracy too, averaged under 1" easily over 21 rounds. I fired two of the 225 TSX loads to get it on the paper, they clocked 2871 and 2878. The recoil of the 225's is noticeably more for sure, but the charge is the max in this rifle. and the bullets are seated out closer to the lands. Overall very happy!!

Just got the calipers out for the groups. They were .61, .67, .72, .81, 1.03, 1.08, 1.21. The 1.08 group I think I relaxed my grip on the bag early and shot a tad lower than it should have been. The best groups were the one's over 60 gr of powder. I overlapped the targets for 60-62 grains of powder, all 9 shots would go into 3/4"
