35 Whelen Superformance

Anyone have experience with this round?

The Ballistics seem good, a 200gr SP leaving at about 2900fps

I'm thinking of trying it for Spring Black Bear this year.

I shot them last fall out of my H&R single shot in 35 Whelen. Never took a deer with that gun but they did measured in the chrono about 2950fps. With the 200gr bullet they will deliver a lot of energy to anything you hit. I think they will be just fine for your bear hunt!

I've shot them in my Ruger M77 hawkeye, fairly accurate, probably grouping 1 1/2 @100 yds in my rifle. and they sure hit the 8" plate at 200 yds with authority! I imagine if a bear gets in your way, you'll make him regret it. Dogger
