350 Rem Mag or 350 Sambar BLR 81 ???

Anyone ever had one of these built on a Browning BLR 81? I think the 300WSM bolt head works? Same size as 350 Rem? A 35 cal with a 22" barrel would be sweet in either of these cartridges.

I have a BLR in 358 Win already, just wondering if anyone has done this. Also have a 35 Whelen. I just like 35 cal rifles It would be a BLR 358 win on steroids!!!

Never heard of anyone doing that conversion. I looked at this idea for a while as have others I know - but to date none I know have actually done one.

One guy in the States I know actually got a barrel then wimped out on the project. He emailed me about it. The idea was to get a BLR in 300WSM or 325WSM and then rebarrel for the 35 Sambar. A rebore might work though a lot of BLR barrel profiles are pretty thin.

The 35Sambar is a power quantum leap above the 350RemMag. My Ruger77 35Sambar (a rechambered 350RemMag) gets 2740MV or so with 250s and 2900MV with 225s (best hunting loads) from its 22" barrel - which is typical.

Sounds like a real interesting project to me.
