.350 Rem Mag vs .35 Whelen

So true! I got some full size 35 Whelens I really like alot. But I got a M600 maggie and a M660 maggie too which I am beginning to favourfor hunting for the reasons U mentioned. Carried my M660 alot last fall for bear. Always a treat as it's so light on it's feet. I shoot 250s at 2550MV and find recoil manageable though it's brisk. If U want U can always load em down to 358 levels and they still work effectively on game.

That M7 MS in 350 must be very SWEET. How's it shoot?

Would absolutely love gettin my hands on a M7 Custom KS in 350. Anybody got one to sell let me know!!!! A 3/4 lb. lighter than the M600 at only 5 3/4 lbs.

The M7 MS is a joy to use, the accuracy has been excellent. The rifle has taken a handfull of whitetails, all one shot kills. I have used factory 200gr CL ammo and have also used the Hornady 200 Spitzer, never recovered any bullets to date they penetrate very well on whitetails. The rifle itself is great originally it wouldn't shoot at all until I found the problem. The rifle has a metal nose cap and this cap is able to shift in it's seat causing the cap to contact the barrel! Needless to say accuracy goes out the window when this happens, I fixed the problem and have never had a problem since. The KS must be a handfull at the bench but I think for hunting it would be OK as the thrill of the moment kind of dampens the recoil feeling.

I thought about that!

I even called the Remington (so-called) Custom shop to see if they would chamber one for me in .358. They said "NO" :mad:

Quite a few good smiths in Canada would have nooooo problem with that assignment.

Remington "custom" shop offers only an extended product line it seems to me - with perhaps a few "standard" options.
