.351 winchester

Dies and brass avail. from Buf. Arms, brass is $46/100, but the dies are pricey, $72 I think, the .351" bullets may be tough to find, NEI #109 is a correct mold.

Its do-able bro. Watch the guys swaging 357 rem bulk pistol bullets down. You seriously dont want them. I'd have to look and not promising but I may have a few 357 max brass left I could convert for ya. See you kinda got a tough spot. Since DKT no longer produces the projectiles then Ben is right, casting is king. That being said a hard cast fully round nose aint much the killer. And you do need that stout round nose in them. I tried swaging down spitzers, you name it, and unless your going to go pathetically slow like 1300 fps with 4198 the pressure just wont be there to operate bolt. I stand corrected. I got out my log here and in reading it I see I did take some 180 grain speers, knock the exposed lead off flat, swage them to .352 and stick em on 22 grains of AA 1680. My log says it made the 1800 fps, operated the bolt and was accurate. If all else fails I think theres about 30 357 max with the rims turned down. If you send me a parent case I can cut the grooves then you can trim em to length. But I seriously do advice that you try to find a continuous source cause of how picky these pricks are on having the right chamber pressure you dont want to be changing brass every time you change your socks or it'll never work the same way twice

I modify 357 Maximum brass. It's an easy conversion, but you need a lathe - reduce the rim diameter to 0.410", deepen the extractor groove and shorten the length to 1.380".

I use cast bullets for the 38/357 and size them down to 0.353" with a custom Lee push-through sizer I bought. I use weights from 150-195 grains, but the original was 180gr and is the best overall choice.

You can make do with 38/357 Mag dies, but you might get a too loose grip on the bullet. A crimp solves that for me.

The gun can be finicky. The 195's don't stabilize with loads that are slower than 1100 fps. Very light loads will not cycle the action, and too much of a fast powder like Unique locks the action and it won't cycle.

For me, the powder of choice is H4227 - a full case with all of those bullet weights works very well.

Thanks for the info quys, i checked out Buf arms it seems like they have dies and brass and jacketed bullets 180 gr, for the .351 win self loader, Next question can you get the jacketed bullets, across the border or will they be stopped by customs. Thanks again for the info

The dies and brass should be okay, but the bullets not, and i don't think that Buff. will send them to you. This time it's their stupid Gubment.
