Just picked up a Winchester 94XTR in 356. Wondering what guys have been having success loading for it. Will be brush gun for Whitetails and possibly Elk.
Does anyone still make a 220 grain bullet for this? Can find 180 and 200 but that’s about it.
Thanks

Speer still makes the 220 gr and has load info in the latest reloading book Hornady only has the 200gr as they’ve discontinued the 250.
These ‘hoarded’ bullets were obviously by the prices picked up around the same time as the rifle-about 1995 ish. Ahh… the good ol’ days, rifle came with a leather case, dies, 2x 180gr bullets, 100 Win brass and 400 rounds 180gr/2600fps loaded(blue box) for $400 at a closing Spokane show, back when we could do that.

I have used the Speer 220gr Hot Cor in my 358 Win for more than 20 years with great results, on elk, moose and mule deer. I have not yet used it in my 356 Win (still shooting thee 200gr factory ammo), but my hunting partner who gifted me the 356 rifle used them in his other 356 on his successful grizzly hunt in 2004. (I backed him up with my 358 in a BLR) 6'11" boar taken at 140 yards.
Powders I have listed to try with this bullet in the 356 are Win748, A2015, and IMR8208.
