I have a Henry lever action 357 mag rifle and I would like to get a colt python or Ruger Vaquero 357 mag

could you use the same cartridge for the rifle as well as the revolver.

I have the Henry rifle and a Ruger Blackhawk in 357. You use the same cartridge in both. I do use a more powerful load in the rifle.

Boltcarrier: Both rifle and revolver can use the same primer. Primer availability right now may be an issue, though. As mentioned, you can load a more powerful round in the rifle. But, most sources recommend that for reloads, stick to published data for revolver.

It's probably best to have one kind of .357 Magnum that works for both guns. If one can take a stouter load than the other, then by all means make sure you somehow mark those loads to avoid inadvertent use in the wrong gun! But extra-stout loads tend to beat up both gun and shooter and it's perfectly okay to relax and load to the milder end of the scale.

An advantage of magnum revolver loads is that there's usually always a perfectly serviceable milder predecessor load available, in this case .38 Special.
