I have been reloading for my S&W 686 revolver for a little while now using a single stage press.
I am using 158 gr bullets with 15.0 gr of H-110 and small magnum pistol primers. I have just switched to a different manufacturer of bullet.

Before, I was using Berry's 158 gr bullets that have no cannelure for crimping. I use a dedicated crimp die to take the flare out of the case mouth and give a very slight roll crimp that is barely noticeable. I was making my OAL 1.590" as recommended in the reloading manuals. All was good.

I now have 158 gr bullets made by Western Munitions that do have a crimping cannelure. The seating depth to make the case mouth just hit the bottom of the crimping cannelure is 1.560". Is this 30/1000 of an inch more of a seating depth still ok? I am planning on sticking with the 15.0 gr of H-110 and magnum primers.

Hodgdon's site lists an OAL of 1.580 with a starting load of 15gr H-110 and a max of 16.7gr H-110, you'll be fine running 15gr H-110. If your worried about it drop down to 14.7and work your way back up.

Is the bullet the same length as the berry's? If so then compare the two and see if the cannelure is at the same spot you would seat the berry's.

But I suspect it's not the same length and the new bullet is shorter. Either way start at 15gr and go from there, I highly doubt there will be any issues.
