Will those 180 grain Buffalo Bore go right through a Buck?

My friend said that his 7 shot 686 can take down large deer and coyotes?

lots of people use 357 for deer it should do the job well as for goin through that depends on the type of bullet your using ost should though

"...said that..." If he's hunting with a handgun he's hunting illegally. No matter what bullet he uses.
However, any .357 will kill a coyote given good shot placement. Out of a rifle the 180's should kill a deer with no fuss though. Buffalo Bore claims 1851 fps out of an 18.5" Marlin 1894. They don't seem to have any actual ballistics tables on their site to provide bullet drop info.

CGNs newest net nanny...........

IMHO.....any hardcast, heavy for caliber, flat point bullet should offer complete penetration on a whitetail, 170grs. and up in the .357 Mag.....I do think that there are better handgun cals. for deer sized game as a .44cal. or .45 cal. bullet hole right through a deer is better than .35.

I'm Canadian and live in Canada.
I hunt with a handgun, am I breaking the law???

(And I'm NOT the only Canuck who hunts in the U.S. with a handgun)

357 mag

Out of a rifle a 357 mag on a deer out to 100 yards is plenty. Works like a hot damm. The best bullets I have found so far are the Hornady 158grain XTP. I plink with a 158gr cast with a gas check, my two bits.

loaded some of these to try on deer this yr.
myreloading039.jpg

loaded a couple of "Dud's", (no primers or powder) to make sure they cycle in my marlin 1894c. i use a heavy crimp with magnum primers. the "Lee factory crimp die" works great too....:)
myreloading043.jpg

now to find which load works best. with this powder it should give maximum speed with less pressure than some other powders. as long as i do my part, it should be able to do the job, within 100 yds....:)
