I was just doing some window shopping and I saw the .357 Pietta revolver, and the idea of such a gun in a 4 3/4 barrel appeals to me.

Who owns, owed or at least has shot one of these and what's yer opinion. Is this just an Italian version of Norinco as the prices seem reasonable.

Having test fired the 45LC version, I can attest that these single actions are very neat and well made and have the "old colt" feeling. I am interested in the 357 also in 4.75". I did a little googling on them and found nothing but great reviews as well. Definately a prospect worth looking into for under 500$.

Hope the owners can chime in as well.

My 357 appeared to lock up tight, until the time the bolt would't fall into the cut. I couldn't fathom why it wouldn't go BANG. It was skipping right past the bolt cut. It's getting fixed now.

Was very accurate, and as soon as soon as the timing is right I am sure it will be a good reliable gun.

I have three Uberti's which I have to say I prefer.

I too am debating between Uberti and Pietta.
I know that Marstar has Pietta, are they available anywhere else in Canada?
Also, where does one buy Uberti in Canada?

You can order Uberti in Ontario from Williams Arms. Their price are usually pretty fair and the service is excellent.

If you're in the market for a SAA, then don't hesitate to get the Pietta. I've read about the problems that older Piettas had, but the current manufactured ones are simply awesome. Easily the equal of a Uberti SAA. If you need further convincing, go to any of them thar cowboy forums and search for "Great Western II" and/or "Charles Daly". They're the same pistol, and they have tons of positive feedback.
