.358 bullets in 38S&W case

Hollow base wadcutters cat or swaged from pure lead would probably be the best choice if you're stuck with using .358" bullets in a .38 S&W. They can expand to fill the rifling grooves.
 
Depends on if you are talking CAST or JACKETED bullets, RIFLE or PISTOL bullets.

I have shot jacketed .358s in my Webley and they were no problem, but I was using PISTOL bullets (Hornady XTP for low-velocity expansion). I would think that a RIFLE .358 well could have a much thicker and harder jacket and likely would wear or damage your relatively-soft bore.

Just my thinking.
