.358 bullets in 38S&W case

can you use .358 bullets in 38S&W case?

will it be too loose? since the correct bullet to use has a dia of .360 for 38S&W?

Yes, not perfect but they do work fine.

Hollow base wadcutters cat or swaged from pure lead would probably be the best choice if you're stuck with using .358" bullets in a .38 S&W. They can expand to fill the rifling grooves.

You might notice extreme leading too.....I run undersize bullets through my 38S&W Tanker pistol and it still works well enough.

Depends on if you are talking CAST or JACKETED bullets, RIFLE or PISTOL bullets.

I have shot jacketed .358s in my Webley and they were no problem, but I was using PISTOL bullets (Hornady XTP for low-velocity expansion). I would think that a RIFLE .358 well could have a much thicker and harder jacket and likely would wear or damage your relatively-soft bore.

I have used the hollow base 148 wadcutters and more recently the 159 lad Semi-wad cutter. Worked just fine.

I size the cases in a 9mm die.
