.358 Molds in 250-270grGC

Saeco makes a very nice 245gr. grain flat nose gas check mold that is very accurate in my .356 Win. With some alloys it comes out to over 250 grs., they quote weight values based on Lyman #2 alloy. Saeco makes about the best production molds and even with the price, are a bargain as they should last a lifetime.

RCBS custom shop will make a 250 grain gas check mould--looks similar to their 200 grain mould with a longer nose. It is an excellent bullet in a .35 whelen.

Go to the castboolits forum. Near the bottom of the forum page are some vendor sub-forums. NOE (new firm) has been making copies of Lyman 358318 and 358009 on group buys. Three of us in B.C. that I know of bought the 358318. I got mine with 3 cavities and hollow point, cone point and flat point adaptor for one cavity. The quality of manufacture is first class. Made from an aluminum alloy only. Large Lee handles fit but KAL in Canada may now have handles specific for them. Come with sizer nose punches, Allan wrenches and sprue plate lube (really good stuff). They sometimes have some on hand that were made surplus to the group buy requirements. 358318 is about 250 grains and 358009 is over 280 grains. You should have a 1/12 or 1/14 barrel twist to get the most out of 358009. I've used both from Lyman moulds for quite a few years but was happy to get away from my single cavity 358318 with anew NOE mould. Contact is Swede Larsen on the forum.

I have one on order too! I believe that it will become a stocked item with time.

Another place that makes very nice molds is "Mountain Molds". They make it according to the design you specify with their on-line tool. I have three of their custom molds.
