358 STA (Shooting Times Alaskan)

Hi all, thinking of getting one of these, and was wandering if anyone here has had any experience with these bad boys. I have several hundred brass for my 8mm Rem mag, so brass shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for any input. Derek

It's like a skinny 375 hh. Kicks harder though. Great round in my opinion

Seems like it's the king of 35s but because brass is an issue for most it's not very popular. But if you have the brass I say go for it. After much deliberation I've decided to stay with the 35 whelen and keep the barrel a bit longer to squeeze a bit more fps from it.

My STA has killed everything I've pointed it at... 225gr @ 3200 thumps! I put mine in a modified LSS chassis and with the brake it's like an obnoxious 300. You've got the brass, may as well build the gun.

Awesome gun I have one built on a sako 75, used it twice in the Yukon and it hits very hard with 250gr noslers

Good cartridge. Brass is no issue, just neck down 375 H&H and fireform. - dan
