Yes it's 8mm mag brass necked up to a 35 cal. Would love to have the 7mm STW!
Never shot a brown bear. But I have killed a few black bears with 250s at 2400MV and they have always worked to anchor them quickly. Very few brown bears are likely to show up where I do my hunting here in the the east. But I doubt you could do much better than those tough 280 A-Frames for killing a griz fast - especially considering the elevated velocities you are sending them out into the harsh world. I'm guessing you probably have the best of both worlds with both "shocking effect" with significant bullet upset and also significant "penetration" with the rear core carrying the bullet on through. Just a guess though.What bullets would you run in the STA for brown bear?
