358 Win Brass

Hornady is supposed to be bringing out new brass in .358 Win this year, can't tell you where to find it though.

If proper headstamp is not an issue for you, simply run a well lubed 308 case through your FL die and you are good to go. Be sure to lube well the inside of the neck.

I haven't yet delt with him but from others I know that have, Jerry Teo at Mystic Precision in Summerland B.C. may be a good source of supply. Also, and him I have delt with, Henry Nierychlo at Budget Shooter Supply in Surrey B.C. Henry has come through for me on a couple of items that are a little hard to find like new Norma unprimed brass for my 7x61 S&H and my 358 Norma Magnum. Also, both of these guys are site sponsors and listed at the top on the CGN website page.

358Win brass can be a bit expensive. Runs about $45 a bag of 50 for Winchester brand. I bought some in Maine last that wasn't much cheaper.

308 brass is much cheaper and easier to find. Right now I'm working up a load for my 358 using reformed 308 FC brass and will switch to the proper headstamp when I have a final load. The 308 stuff works perfectly.

If you are loading for a boltgun, Hornady makes a universal 35cal neck size die that is perfect for the task and has a nice tapered expander that makes sizing 308 up to 35cal a snap. I dip the cases in a small film container with graphite and small lead shot to lube the necks inside and out. It works very well, but gets a bit dirty so into the tumbler they go after that.

Don't know where you're from (didn't see a location ID in your profile), but if I remember correctly I bought a whole pile of .358 brass from Goble's in London, ON. last year.

Yesterday at the range got to exchange my 870 remmy almost new for a nice BLR 358 ( maybe 20 years old ) with 4 boxes of ammo, no more than 20 shots from it, it look brand new and shoot good, it is so nice... Another caliber to reload for, the wheel never stop turning... JP.
