The company name in a cartridge name is the company that first developed or sold the round. A 35 Remington was first marketed by Remington but the manufacturing specs and tolerances are pretty easy to come by so the same cartridge made by any other company will be good too. I run into a lot of people who insist on buying Winchester .308 ammo because the cartridge has "Winchester" in the name so Winchester must know best how to make it. This simply isn't true and any .308 ammo will work just fine.
I've never heard of 35 Marlin before and Google doesn't seem to know about it either. The only Marlin cartridges close to that I know of are .308 Marlin Express and .338 Marlin Express. Are you sure it isn't 35 Whelen?
If you are looking for 35 Rem know that it is a totally proprietary cartridge and can't be converted or exchanged with any other cartridge and goes by no other names.
the only reason i ask is that i see someone selling a (as he put is) "Model 336CS 35 Marlin" and a "Model 336RC 35 Marlin". I've heard of 35 rems thats why i raised the question. but i just guess he didnt want to add the "rem" to the "35". im not big on lever guns so once again thats why i asked, to learn something new.
