Was marlin the only player in the long barreled bolt game?
There was the marlin original goose gun and the super goose were there any others made in enough numbers to still find one today?

Mossberg made 38 and 40 inch Model 500 pump guns, but I have never seen one up close.
In my youth, my best friend had a Mossberg bolt action shotgun, which was the most awkward excuse for a shotgun, that I have ever handled. He bought a Remington 870 pump as soon as he saved enough.
I had a Birmingham Damascus hammer double with brass plates reinforcing a fractured wrist.

I know several pumps came with long barrels but im only interested in a bolt action right now. 10 or 12ga.

There was a kessler made gun but i think it was a rebranded marlin

I had the marlin goose gun (model 55). A gamemaster(?) and a German Mauser conversion. I won’t be using a bolt shotgun again.even the 410 I had ( can’t remember brand) was a pain to use. Had a 36” Cooey 12, shot it lots. Lots of black powder loads at the shoots in the 80s.

No Marlin bought the rights to Kesslers lever action to build their own lever-matic in .256 win mag and .30 carbine. Kessler co. only made guns for about 3 years and Numrich bought all the existing parts.

Stateside i saw several kessler bolt action shotguns. They look very similar to the marlins. I knew somewhere the 2 companys were involved with each other. Funny the 256wm is another oddity i have an interest in
