I am in need of some help reloading for this round.Finding next to no info on it.
I know there was only a hand full of these built.I would like to use the 225g bullet, could a person use the info on the 338 RUM as a starting point they are very close?

Gord.

I can model this through Quickload but I will need some particulars.

Bullet weight, caliber,length.

case volume in grains of water

cartridge over all length

case length

barrel length

The 360 Imperial is a 35-404 improved, a very good friend and my sheep hunting partner used to have one built by Bevan King. They are an amazing cartridge but unfortunately I don't have his load data. You can just look at the 338 Edge or RUM although the Rum is slightly shortened and then look at similar bullet weights in the 375 RUM and interpolate your loads accordingly. When loaded to it's full potential this cartridge is hard on the heels of the 378 Wby. If you intend to hunt with this cartridge use only premium bonded or homogenous bullets as it destroys cup and core bullets like they were varmint bullets. My buddy ended up finding some 275 gn Swift A-frames for his and recconed it was the ideal bullet for this cartridge.

Your best bet would be to try and contact Aubrey White, who was the driving force behind the line of Imperial/Canadian Magnum cartridges. He did send me load data for the entire line when I had a 7mm Imperial Magnum, but I no longer have the data.

Bullet weight, caliber,length. 225g bullet

case volume in grains of water 115 (read that in an article)

cartridge over all length 3.600

case length 2.820

barrel length 24in

H-4350, 94.4gr, 103.1% case fill, 58.7Kpsi, Barrel time 1.090 mS close to a node, predict 3037 fps.

H-414, 94.2gr, 95.1% case fill, 57.2Kpsi, barreltime 1.102 mS close to node, predict 3079 fps.

IMR 4350, 94gr, 101% case fill, 58.4Kpsi, barrel time 1.093 mS close to node, predict 3031 fps.

These values are generic to QL with the given case capacity of 115gr of water. The bullet modeled is a 225gr Barnes TSX.

Suggest you load 3-5 rounds and run them across a chronograph, let me know the velocities then I can fine tune the charge weight to an exact node .

If you have other powders or bullets let me know.
