Strongly considering getting a Zeiss V8 which has a 36mm maintube but I am hesitating cause I can't find any 36mm scope rings.Who makes them and where can I get them in Canada?

First time I heard of a 36mm tube. I would guess just through Zeiss at the moment,

edit: looks like IOR, Recknagel and Spuhr makes them, look for vendors who sell IOR through this site.

Also, ontarget with integrated bubble level, not sure if the ITAR shipping laws applies to scope rings, seem to remember either rings or scope rails not being on the list.

The problem with Spuhr is that they seem really bulky and very expensive( like $500 plus tax and shipping which is more than I want to pay for a set of rings).

True enough.

Maybe you will have to settle for a 34mm scope.
I just purchased a S&B and am using Nightforce mounts, not cheap, but a lot less than the Spuhrs.

I carry the V8 rifles scopes and the Zeiss V8 36mm weaver-style (also compatible with a picatinny rail) one-piece ring/base. They are available in medium (for the 2.8-20x56 and 1.8-14x50mm) or low (for the 1.1-8x30mm): $269 +tax/shipping.

The V8 scopes are exceptional. Also exciting that the 4.5-35x60mm will be released this fall...October-ish.
