375 and 408 Cheytac now banned along with 50 BMG ELR now dead?

Not yet but it is likely others will be added. They are working through other calibres to decide which are "capable" of 10,000 Joules. The 375 CT by factory rolled spec was well under at 9200 so who knows.

Why arent they going by sammi specs? They explicitly said they were going to for shotguns in a recent release.

Also not sure how they are going to handle the other actions. It appears they specifically went after the Cadex action chambered in 375 CT but what about other actions or the 375 enabler. They haven't banned the calibre all together "just" 10,000 joules. This is a very weird and stupid regulation by the Liberals.

People are focused the 12 gauge nonsense but this one is actually worse.

No just the Tremor. The Shadow 375 and 408 were prohibited afterwards but still not on any "list" that I'm aware of.

And to add further smoke; they seem to have banned the Cadex Shadow so I assume to can run another 375 barrelled action like a JJ ROCK in a Dual Strike with loads under 9,999 and your legal now?? All very confusing.

They can not arbitrarily decide which firearms with barrel that measures 20mm and above to prohibit. The oic has no provisions for that as it is written

Desert tech HTĂ is named. It is a multi Caliber rifle, you could put a barrel on it in a Caliber well below the 10k limit, but it is still prohibited because of what it is capable of, not what happens to be its current configuration or loading

It is not stupid. It is deliberate and evil. I am certain that in the coming days folks with access to the live FRT will see many more varieties of rifles banned because they are CAPABLE of discharging ammunition which exceeds 10,00 joules. Just because the caliber / ammunition is not on a list does not mean it's safe.

Hell, both the .700 Nitro Express and .600 Nitro Express are now banned because they too exceed 10,000 joules. Going to be a few very expensive double rifles moved to prohibited status in the FRT.

Any rifle chambered in .375 and .408 Chey-tac will be banned if it is not already. If they really want to screw us they will ban any action capable of accepting that cartridge regardless of what the rifle is currently chambered in. Your JJ Rock will be prohibited too if you barrel it in .375 Chey-tac no matter whether or not your load is above or below the 10,000 joule limit.

The RCMP has decided that both cartridges are capable of exceeding the 10,000 joule ceiling. Does not matter one bit if your home loads or some factory ammo comes in below the threshold. Someone else can load it above the limit so everyone pays. Like it or not, SAAMI spec notwithstanding, these calibers are capable of more than 10,000 joules and therefore toast.

So are they going to ban expensive German bolt rifles with switch-barrels too?

Who knows what they will do, but precedence has already been set with multi Caliber rifles listed in the oic to be prohibited rather than just because of their current configuration

.375 CT is not under SAAMI homologation.

It is under CIP. And CIP homologation for this caliber MINIMAL joule value is 10000 and over.

They will adsolutely not regulate thinking about reloads as they can get anywhere in the spectrum.

.375 enabler is listed at 9500 so far. So it should be gtg. For now...

No. Chambering makes it prohib.

Chamber caliber determine what can be shot in it. Therefore if the chamber is capable of shooting a SAAMI or CIP ammunition that is at 10K and over, you are toasted.

They will not based the regulation up on HANDLOADS. Heck I reloaded subsonic 308 rounds already... Does not mean my 308 chamber is not capable of shooting a 308 round at 2800fps...
