Just wondering if anyone knows what hand load data can achieve with 270 gr bullets from the Ruger case...

Kind of taking a look at this case.

I have its close cousin in an epstien very close case dimentions.

Also what the max case capacity is, in gen grains of powder.

When I was shooting the .375 Ruger in an Alaskan model rifle across the chronograph I recorded 2522 fps with the 300 gr TSX and 2730 for the 260 gr AB and the Hornady 270 gr. The factory load with a 270 gr Hornady is loaded with 81.5 grs of ball powder. I don't know why, but I didn't shoot it across the screens. Re-19 and Hybrid 100V produced the best velocities with the 260 gr bullet (the owner's go to bullet for this rifle) and we settled on 86.0 grs for his load. The H100V data was recorded at a temperature of 5C.

I haven't done a lot of load development for my .375 Ruger but here's some of the results I've achieved with various bullet/powder combos.

The barrel is a 21.5" McGowan

260 gr Nosler Accubonds(using the Hodgdon site as a guideline)
IMR4350
- 78 grs - 2585 fps
- 80 grs - 2643 fps
- 82 grs - 2709 fps - this a severely compressed load to the point that the bullets wouldn't stay seated to a consistent oal.

270 gr Hornady Interlocs(used the Barnes manual as a guideline)
RL15
- 71 grs - 2627 fps
- 73 grs - 2708 fps

300 gr Hornady RN(used the Nosler manual as a guideline)
RL15
- 68 grs - 2462 fps
- 70 grs - 2502 fps
- 72 grs - 2560 fps

Varget
- 67 grs - 2372 fps(consistently very accurate load in my rifle)
- 69 grs - 2435 fps
- 71 grs - 2499 fps

All of the above loads were below max in my rifle. Your mileage may vary

that is real time results,,,thanks

does not look anymore potant than the H&H, but less powder.

seems efficient, but at teh same 79 gr of IMR 4350 in my epstien I get 2830 fps with a 270 gr sp hdy

thank you
