Has anyone taken this step yet in Canada? I see that Pacific Tool and Die has the reamer on their list, so someone has done it... I think that this would make a very nice critter stoper! I am thinking of putting one together as a light pack/guide gun. 20-22" barrel, aluminum block and V-bull detachable mag( converted to 5 shot WSM capacity) and a AR grip and collapsable stock, fore grip 3/4" round stock(aluminum). Why no wood? My beef with conventional stocks are that the sling studs are on the bottom of the stock causing the rifle to hang up and down, when packing with a large back pack and crossing rivers sometimes you need both hands (mountan poles for stability). So what I want is a rifle that is super light and has the sling swivels mounted on the side of the firearm so that when carried on a 3 position sling it rides flat against your chest and is easily accesible when you need it in a hurry. It will look uglier than sin but should work. Flame away with your comments and your "Bubba" theories, I am looking forward to your thoughts.

Don't know if he's Canadian but Birddeerhunter over on Shootersforum built a 375WSM many years ago. He reports on one thread,
I shoot a 375 WSM. The recoil is even more moderate and the velocities are good. Just run a 300 WSM, or 325 now, through the dies, load and go. 2790 fps for the 235 Barnes XLCs and 2450 for a 300 gr bullet.
