I need a die that will flare my brass a bit. My lee die set is made for jacketed and folds case mouths sometimes. This is with gas checked I would not even try plain base.i can’t find RCBS cowboy dies anywhere and Brownells even cancelled my back order saying they can’t get them. Who makes this kind of die and what do they call it and where can I get one? Thanks

I use and have very good luck with the Lyman type "M" expanders, and the Lyman patent expired and many other die manufactures now have this type expander.

The stepped type "M" expanders allow the bullet to be started "straight" into the case without any bullet tilting. And this type expander works the case mouth less and the cases last longer before the case mouth splits.

Below a Lyman type "M" expander for the .223 and the case mouth is bumped onto the .226 section of the expander. This allows the bullet to be started into the case mouth by hand and aids straight inline seating reducing the chance of bullet runout.

Below I only bump the case mouth onto the "B" section of the expander and never need to go to the "C" section that flairs the case mouth. But this depends on the bullet diameter and not scraping lead or the bullet coating off.
