38-55 long brass?

Inter surplus has in the past had the longer brass, Starline. My source for long brass has been Dominion and Imperial. The shorter brass does work well in older rifles with the longer chambers. Bullets I use are cast. Original Winchester mould 255grs fn. Lyman 335 gr and I picked up the Lee 255 gr to try. Haven’t shot too many of the Lee but seem to work well. My Winchester 94 has a bore of 0.379 which of the older rifles did so something to keep in mind when figuring out when bullet sizing. Most of my shooting 38-55 is black powder. I do have a load using smokeless with IMR 4198 and the Winchester bullet.

Yet another vote for Rusty Woods. I have bought long .38-55 brass there before, as well as powder, primers, dies, and he sells cast bullets too. He's also quite knowledgeable about smithing old guns if required.

RW is very accommodating, I asked about as-cast large dia bullets and they sent them no problem
item appears on their list now, great for pc'ing

Inter surplus can't be beat for short brass price right now, but after slugging the chamber on the old 1893 I want to try the long brass to fill the void that is obviously there, with the idea of keeping things cleaner

plus would like to try a couple different bullets and molds, just for S&G's
