Does this model of the 38-55 mean that one could stoke up the loads a fair bit more toward 375 win pressures?

i've never seen the XTR in aus chambered in 38-55 but i was searching for more 375 BBs and after seeing 5 of them for sale between $900 and $1600 there was this 38-55 XTR Big Bore..... obviously the same frame as what the 375 BB came out in.... so it peaked my curiosity and of course the best place to ask is CGN!
thank you

Don't think this is a factory rifle. I have found however, that some 375W chambered rifles, both Winchester
& Marlin will accept long 38-55 (2.125") brass using the RD379-235 cast bullet. Lot of free bore
designed into these rifles.

Cannot say that I have ever heard of a Big Bore .38-55.Could the barrel have been changed from a .375 to a .38-55 for some reason or other.Where did you see the rifles listed for sale at?Perhaps it was something made up for the market in your area?

I have a M94 Reproduction 38-55 [Legendary Frontiersman] and it is definitely not a "Big Bore" version,
since it has the flat sided receiver. That being said, there is nothing underpowered in a 255 grain Barnes
original jacketed bullet at 1800+ fps

This rifle shoots into 1¼ moa regularly with a couple of jacketed loads and one cast load. Dave.

I can't see why they would ever make a BB in .38-55, as the whole idea of the .375 Win was to optimize the cartridge in the BB. Could be a custom job, or a typo.

What powder are you running with the jacketed IMR 3031 or RE #7 ?
