.38 s&w/.380r cases i am wondering if they are avalible still. i am not looking to purchase at this moment but i also don't know much about handgun ammo etc. as i am a rifle shooter. i am wondering for a freind thats been out of reloading for a long long time. thank you in advance, please dont shut me down if the answer is easy:HR:. thank you very much.

You can still buy factory loaded ammo. As well, I have heard there is a way to make brass from .38 Special brass. If you search a bit, I think this very topic was covered a year or two ago with good tech info.
I have a Webley .38 S&W, and while it is not fancy or "high performance", it has a special old-fashionedy feel that I like.

Factory ammo is still available but usually pricy AFAIC. I'm sure a few of the sponsors above could get the brass for you (I got some from higginsons but that was a few years back).

If you want to get all backwoods on the reloading, you can use 38 S&W brass and use 9mm dies to roll your own. The bullets are undersize but work good enough for me.

X2 starline, believe the canadian distributor is doubletap sports(they have website). .38 special may work, but i wouldn't recommend, cause brass will bulge alot. Some .38 s&W are a touch oversize, .359 to .361 cast bullets recommended, 200 grain suggested so british military break-actions will shoot to sights. Good luck
