I'm soon going to have my grandfathers 38 S&W which will be my first handgun I've owned. Other then the hard to find ammo are there any cons to this gun? It's a lee enfield mk2 . Just wondering what you guys think.
It's an Enfield. The revolvers aren't Lee Enfields, those are only rifles.
(Or perhaps it's a Webley incorrectly identified as an Enfield. The WWII Enfield service revolvers in .38S&W are basically a copy of a design that Webley did and the War Dept ripped them off and had the Enfield arsenal make it.)
The recoil takes some getting used to, I feel like I had a squid load if I haven’t shoot one in a while. Reload for them using 38 special bullets will keep the cost down for ammunition. They are the right size, weight, and recoil to introduce young shooters and shooters with small hands to centerfire handguns.
I really enjoy shooting mine. Get some basic reloading gear if you plan on shooting it much though, and grab any ammo you can. Jethunter (a member here) makes the proper 200grn bullets in the correct diameter for this gun (.361 rather than than .357), but .357 will work ok.

You may want to consider reloading- in which case you won't have an issues getting ammo. (Getting pistol powder is it's own challenge right now, but I digress…)
