38 Short Colt - Help Please

I have been searching for 38 short colt ammunition to purchase. Can anybody direct me where I could get this type of ammo?

picked up 2 boxes of 38 S&W at WSS last week

38 LC, can't help there

just looked it up 38 SC it only.765" long while 38S&W is .775" so they are not the same


I guess you could trim 38 special brass down and reload

Sorry to hijack the thread with this question, but I think its related to the this .38 thread...

I've got a .38 Colt police positive that I have not yet fired, and I was under the impression that it shot .38 S&W so I picked up a few hundred rounds at the HAC show. However, if it is actually .38 colt short I shouldn't be firing the S&W through it...right?

"...right?..." Right. No .38 S&W's in a .38 Colt. The S&W has much higher pressures than the Colt. By 7,000 CUP. The Colt uses a 'heeled bullet'(it was developed for converted percussion cap revolvers). The S&W does not.
There most definitely are Police Positives chambered in the S&W. That was the cartridge it was first chambered in. It didn't come in .38 Short Colt.
