.38 Special '' Bird shot'' Where to find ?

Can anyone tell me where I can find some .38 Special ''Birdshot'' ammunition ?

I believe CCI use to make some but any suppliers around ?

I am sure any retailer can order it for you.

Lanz Shooting Supplies had some for awhile, but they don't ship ammo.

Regardless the stuff is useless for the most part, and beyond 5 feet the pattern opens up into a large donut ring shape due to the rifling in the barrel.

Pretty sure I saw some at The Shooting Edge last time I was in. 38/.357 They had CCI Birdshot in all kinds of pistol calibers.

Buy the Speer shot capsules and make your own - a bag of either #9 or #12 should last a lifetime...

I found the .22 mag stuff to pattern pretty well out of an NAA mini master I once owned.

This sums it up! I used some Speer .38/.357 capsules in my Savage 24V for a couple of grouse hunts. Tried to kill several sitting grouse at about 20 feet, certainly less than 10 yards. Out of 6 shots, I wounded one, and missed the rest. I now know I should have checked patterns on paper first, but when I did after the fact, the paper revealed very poor and donut shaped patterns.
I think I have some capsules laying around somewhere if you want to try your luck, but please don't test your theory on live game like I did!
