Just wondering if anyone had any opinions on a fair price for a 1936-1942 production 5" barrel .38 Special, Military and Police revolver in VG condition with some blueing wear. I've been looking for one and now have found one. Asking price is $300. Thoughts?

If it's an original .38 SPL with matching numbers, not a replue, and with original grips, that's a great price. Even better if US military marked.

If it's a .38S&W bored out to .38 SPL, or if it's been reblued or refurbed or whatever, all I can say is "Run Forrest... RUN!"

It is a 4th version made in 38 spl. not bored out. I believe the blueing and grips to be original but I dont think it is military marked. Need to check on the matching numbers issue.
