38 wadcutter

Prefer the using swaged hollow base WC bullets for accuracy. Still have my first container of double end WC that i haven't finished off.

Ha ha ha! First, try to find swaged 148 grain hollow base wad cutters. After the sticker shock, if you can buy them, prepare to hand over 13-15 cents each.
Second, swaged 148 grain hollow base wad cutters do best at 50 yards for accuracy. If you are not firing for 50 yards, you are wasting your money.
Third, cast 148 grain cast bullets are equal to swaged bullets out to 25 yards.

I see the difference in my S&W M52 and Dan Wesson Model 15.
Still have lots of swaged Hornady HBWC and some older 3D bullets. 3D was bought out by Hornady.

The price of factory 148 WC is horrendous, absolutely reload your own,38 special is one of the easiest calibers to reload for.Ive had good results with Campro 148 HBWC,seem to be as accurate as Speers without the filth.

I reload 38 Spl 148 gr HBWC bullets with a Lee Loader (hand tool), 2.7 grains Bullseye powder, very pleased with the results. Using Hornady swaged bullets. The Lee Loader is easy in this calibre, quick enough for me, and fun to do.

lol, I have the swage dies and press for 148 hollow base wad cutters, and a power knurler, takes me about 3 hours per thousand to stash them away
